Swine flu shot - lives endangered?

Swine influenza – Swine influenza or swine flu is a respiratory disease in pigs caused by the type A H1N1 swine influenza virus (SIV). Humans in close proximity to swine could contract swine influenza if the swine are carrying the rare strain of the SIV that is capable of affecting humans.

SymptomsSwine flu symptoms in humans are generally similar to regular flu (influenza) symptoms and include muscle pain, runny nose, sore throat, cough, headache, lack of appetite, fever, chills, and general weakness and discomfort. Other reported symptoms are nausea, vomiting and diarrhea.

Transmission – Swine flu spreads from pigs to humans when humans are close to infected pigs. People working in barns or visiting livestock exhibits housing infected pigs are likely to get affected. Transmission from humans to humans can occur when the infected individual coughs or sneezes when others are close by. Putting one’s hands to the nose or mouth after touching anything with the flu viruses on it could also spread the infection. Consuming well-cooked pork and pork products won’t cause infection as cooking to an internal temperature of 160F kills bacteria and viruses, including the swine flu virus.

Treatment and medication – While swine flu can generally be cured by the four antiviral drugs approved for curing flu in the US, amantadine, rimantadine, oseltamivir and zanamivir, the recent 2009 swine flu outbreak viruses have been found to be resistant to the first two drugs. Oseltamivir and zanamivir are now recommended for treatment and prevention of swine influenza.

Prevention – Swine flu can be prevented by taking certain precautionary measures, such as washing hands frequently with soap or an alcohol-based hand wash. Staying away from infected individuals is important as their coughing or sneezing could spread the infection. If instances of infection are reported in your locality, stay indoors as far as possible. Swine flue vaccine could be out by June 2009.

  2. the CDC has reported 91 cases in the United States. According to WHO, there have been 10 deaths worldwide because of the Swine Flu, and only 1 person here at home in the US.

Is this reason to panic? Not one bit.
The regular flu kills somewhere around 175 people each and every day.
This results in over 63,000 per year.

There is no cure for the common flu.
We have vaccines, and natural immunities, but no cure.

The problem with the Swine Flu, is that we have no vaccines, and seeing as how we've never encountered it, we have no natural immunity to the virus.

Experts say that the Swine Flu is no worse than the regular flu, and it isn't to be compared to the black plague, or anything of the sort (like many news stations are trying to pretend it is).

So why is the media making this such a big deal?
Why is the media making such a point to bring it up?

Because that means that you'll watch their station, read their article, listen to their podcast, etc.

That's how they make money, kids.
    Welcome to the economy. :)

Anyway, this thing really isn't a big deal. If you get it, go to the doctor, just to be safe. Experts say that your immune system should be able to fight it off without any antibiotics (just like the regular flu), but that you should go to the doctor anyway.

    This isn't a big deal.

    Bottom line:

The Swine Flu is just a different type of flu, but that's still all it is.. The flu. Nothing more, nothing less. The flu has the capability to kill people (usually young children, and the elderly), but it barely affects us. Even if somebody at your school did have it (which they probably don't), and it was given to you.. guess what would happen? You'd get the flu, it'd suck, you'd get over it. End of story.

  4. around 7 days the symtoms will start appearing/attacking your body

Started in Mexico by a gene of a sick pig going to another. Then farm workers started touching these pigs and they got it, and spread it.

Wash your hands and sanitize then every hour. Also wash your hands after you cough/sneeze.

  10. It is supposed that this is a beta test, for sure this disease is man-made to what end we don't know (That is unless you believe that Asian swine flu, European swine flu, US swine flu, avian flu and human influenza somehow combined and infected a small rural town in Mexico). The thing you must always bear in mind in cases like this is Who Benefits? Research it, of course the Illuminati "don't exist" do they? And for those sceptics out there I propose to you, no one ever died from stockpiling food and water.
(Hmm look Rumsfeld has stock in Tamiflu, interesting…)

  12. Nobody, I’m just using some forward thinking. The fact that the news about the Swine Flu vaccine has become mainstream leads me to think there’s something not quite right here.

  18. start to improve your health eat 1-6 cloves of fresh choped garlic a day. sprinkle ground cinnamon on your cereal.

Fresh garlic is the best natural antibiotic you can get.iv had abscess teeth for 15 years and IM still here.with garlic my colds usually last 1-2 days or less.

drink lemon juice 1-2 teaspoons in 8 ounces of water [distilled] preferably.vinegar works the same but taste nasty.

start slow on the garlic because your stomach isn't use to it.cut the clove in to small slices and scoop it onto a spoon and swish it down with a drink of water.if it burns to much drink a few mouth fulls of milk to cut the burn.

iv done around 3 cloves of garlic for 6 years now

  24. Hey, if you're feeling like this i would advice you to call your doctor to your house and let him see what's wrong with you.

Make sure you cover your mouth when sneezing or coughing.
WASH your hands ALWAYS after the toilet even if you pee!

I hope its not swine flu and i hope you best luck.

  26. True, but just speaking personally, I’ve noticed a lot of everyday people I’ve spoken to are suspicious of the whole Swine Flu debacle.
