Symptoms of H1N1 (Swine Flu)

The swine flu is the thing what we are mostly discussed in these days and most of the people are really interested to get knowing what this is. According to the scientific explanation, swine flu is a virus which was originated with the swine and now it has spread to the humans also. They have named this virus as Swine influenza (H1-N1) and still remain as a critical virus category. Because of that, still there are not vaccines in order to prevent from the infection and the only thing we can do is control the spread of it.

If you are really interest and concern on stopping the spread, then there few basic things you can follow through.  As an example, it is always better to cover up your nose and mouth while you’re sneezing and when going near to a person who is sneezing or coughing, the reason is that this virus can be spread through the air and you need to take all possible precautions to stop it.

Also if you are feeling not well and sick, then it is always better to get the immediate medical attention as it can be the beginning of the swine flu. Since it is the beginning, the doctors can do some little more in order to keep your situation under control till they find a proper solution for the virus.

However the doctors has identified that there are no specific symptoms for this swine virus and the symptoms are same as normal flu. So if you are having heavy headache, fever , chilling, body ache, vomiting, diarrhea and any other symptom with relevant to the normal flue, it is always recommended to get medical attention and try to cover up your mouth & nose always. So it will be a great help to prevent the virus being spread.

Since this virus is originated with the swine, the doctors and scientists are still doing their investigations in order to find a proper cure for the virus. So the state government has given the full support for this process as they have understood the gravity of the situation.

Also most of the meat processors have stopped producing pork due to this situation and the market also refusing pork. So it is a good point to avoid the spread of virus and it needs to be controlled accordingly. However the farmers have taken necessary precautions to keep the swine away from the other animals and the foods available at the farm to assure the safety from the swine flu. However by the time of now, few infected people have died due to the swine flu and it is a good point to understand the critical condition of this situation. Because of that, the scientists and the doctors work with their maximum capacity in order to find a proper solution for this critical virus. So the people are awaiting a very good solution in the very near future.

  7. If H1N1 is not naturally occurring then it indeed is man-made. Some scientists say it was developed by the military through some complex gene-splicing. I also heard that the military is exclusively developing the swine flu vaccine but have not been able to validate this. If true, what is it they do not want private pharmaceutical scientists to know?

  16. It was very suspicious to me how fast they “found” the vaccine, not just that but how fast they did all the process in creating it, test it if it was safe for humans and how fast it was approved by the government, I really think that it is man made.

  20. I know someone (a young teen about 14) who has it. The doctor told her that she shouldn't worry about it and that kids her age get this flu and it's like the regular flu for them. You basically do the same things you would do if you have the regular flu..lots of liquids, Ibuprofen, and rest. The doctor told me that young adults have more to worry about because for some reason, kids get over it as quickly as the regular flu.

Basically the symptoms for her were very similar to regular flu: chills, fever, slight cough, and fatigue. Mostly it was fever.

Doctor said not too worry about it and told me (I'm a young adult) to keep my distance from the girl and wash my hands often.

  22. State forces nurses to receive flu shots
Health care workers across N.Y. angered by vaccination mandate

The state Health Department is requiring that all direct care workers and those with whom they have contact be vaccinated for seasonal flu and the H1N1 virus, also known as swine flu.

“It’s a condition of employment,” the Massena Memorial Hospital employee said. “We are being FORCED to take this against our will, without proof that the vaccine will even be effective.”

  24. Pretty much like regular flu, in fact this strain of influenza is no where close to being as crippling and hazardous to our health. I am more concerned about the comon flu. More people die from that than Swine Flu. Symptoms are fever, sweating, aches and pains etc. However see a doctor if you are feeling bad and if you have flu symptoms, call in advance so they can treat you privately. There is way too much hype over this, it's just another strain of the flu, every country has a flu season with different strains. I think because they named it "Swine" every one has panicked and most definately over reacted. Live life, we all get sick, we all get the flu. I am more worried about the regular one that we have lived with for ever that kills 10's of thousands, not hundreds.

  28. It sounds like it or at least a flu-like sickness. It's generally no different from other flu symptoms so just treat it as you would any other flu or stomach virus and you should be okay.

    -Drink lots of fluids
    -Get lots of rest
-Try to take some motrin or something to reduce the fever if you have any.
-Stay away from eating/drinking acidic foods/drink (Learned that the hard way)

And of course the doctor would be a plus.
